Special Issue in Drones MDPI

In recognition of the burgeoning advancements in Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and their growing application in wildland fire research and operations, the CHAMELEON project is delighted to announce the launch of a new Special Issue dedicated to these critical topics, by “Drones”, an Open Access Journal by MDPI. This academic endeavor underscores the project’s commitment to driving the frontier of research in the nexus of UAS and wildland fire management.

This Special Issue is an open invitation to authors around the globe to submit their original research articles and review papers. Of particular interest are manuscripts that illustrate the use of UAS across various wildland fire themes, including firefighter safety, management and control, characterization of fire dynamics, plume dispersion, detailed forest mapping, characterization of fire emissions, meteorological measurements, and the detection and tracking of elements such as people, animals, and vehicles. Your active participation will undoubtedly further enrich our collective understanding and management of wildland fires.
